Invitation to the 21st Colloquium on Manufacturing Technology and the Inauguration of a New Machining Center for Optics Production

 

Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear colleagues and students,

 

We would like to invite you to the 21st Colloquium on Production Engineering and the inauguration of a new machining center for optics production on July 27, 2022, from 2 to 6 pm in Lecture Hall 7 of our university.

The event will start with four presentations around precision machining of optical freeforms and their measurement. This will be followed by a live demonstration of the machining of a complex freeform, followed by the ceremonial commissioning of a new 6-axis polishing center.

The acquisition of this equipment was made possible by a grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e.V. (DFG) and the Free State of Thuringia. This means that the machine equipment for the entire process chain of optics production of complex components and free forms is now available at our university. It offers extended possibilities for joint development projects and the integration of innovative manufacturing technologies into teaching.

At the end of the event, a joint meal with Thuringian specialties offers the opportunity to get into conversation, discuss ideas, network and exchange experiences.
